A Call of Christian Conscience

I just read and signed the Manhattan Declaration.

If you are a GOD Fearing, Freedom Loving, Life Affirming Christian, and you haven’t already done so, let me ask you to take the time to read the declaration for yourself, and consider adding your signature as well.

The following is from the home page of the The Manhattan Declaration website.

Christians, when they have lived up to the highest ideals of their faith, have defended the weak and vulnerable and worked tirelessly to protect and strengthen vital institutions of civil society, beginning with the family.

We are Orthodox, Catholic, and evangelical Christians who have united at this hour to reaffirm fundamental truths about justice and the common good, and to call upon our fellow citizens, believers and non-believers alike, to join us in defending them. These truths are:

1. the sanctity of human life
2. the dignity of marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife
3. the rights of conscience and religious liberty.

Inasmuch as these truths are foundational to human dignity and the well-being of society, they are inviolable and non-negotiable. Because they are increasingly under assault from powerful forces in our culture, we are compelled today to speak out forcefully in their defense, and to commit ourselves to honoring them fully no matter what pressures are brought upon us and our institutions to abandon or compromise them. We make this commitment not as partisans of any political group but as followers of Jesus Christ, the crucified and risen Lord, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

  1. This is great stuff. This guy nails it squarely! We need to use force to recover our country and return to excellence. The knee-jerkers don't like to hear the word "force", but that is our mandate. We must use the force of conscience. We must speak the truth, act with moral conscience, and VOTE with the moral code that will return us our nation. We must force the isolation of the faithless liberal instigators who would drive a wedge into any moral crack they can find. Our unity will isolate them and render them irrelevant, but only if we observe AND PRACTICE what Cardinal Rigali has challenged. imho, of course.

  2. Great video!! I am glad that different faiths could come together to stand up for such a worthy cause. I have already signed the Declaration. Thanks for helping to spread the word for this cause that stands up for life and values.

Keep it clean. If all you can do is call names or threaten retribution, It will be assumed by most readers that you are admitting that you have nothing intelligent or worth while to add to the conversation, and therefore are not worthy of paying attention too.
