Guns & Patriots, a Human Events, publication, typically contains some good articles and commentary. And now on top of that they will be reprinting the Federalist Papers, beginning this week with Federalist #1.
For those who do not know, the Federalist Papers are a series of eighty-five articles, or essays if you will, advocating the ratification of the Constitution of the United States of America. As such, they are the primary aid in rightly interpreting our Constitution. Written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay, the Federalist Papers outlined the reasoning behind, and purpose of, replacing the Articles of Confederation with the new Constitution.
Guns & Patriots, intends to run a different one of the Federalist Papers each week, and I recommend that if you have not already read them, you take advantage of this and do so now. Or better yet, go out and buy or download a copy to keep for your own personal reference. If you have already read the Federalist Papers, then do yourself, and those who’s Freedom you care about a huge favor. Read them again. Doing so can only provide you with a greater understanding of the Constitution of the United States of America, and of the republic it was intended to produce.

Sherman Set the Wayback to 1948
The video below is an example of a cartoon that was made in a time when freedom was more than just a word. Back then Freedom was something to be cherished and defended, something virtually every American was ready to fight and die to keep.
It tears at my heart when I see how many people today are willing to so quickly and thoughtlessly trade away their freedom for some lofty promise that the government will provide them with something they feel the cannot, or are unwilling to, get for themselves.
I know that when I was growing up, I was taught by my parents that my Father GOD in Heaven would provide for all my needs (Philippians 4:19), not my Uncle Sam in Washington. I still believe that, and have seen it proven to be true time and time again.
I was also taught that I could have or achieve anything, as long as I was willing to put in the necessary effort to earn it
We need to teach these truths not only to our children, but apparently also to our friends, our co-workers, and anyone else that GOD chooses to bring into our sphere of influence. That may well be the single most important thing that we can do right now. And it might prove to be the only thing that we can do to keep the ignorant and the lazy from trading away; that which so many Americans, from the founding of this great nation, to this very day, have fought and died to secure and preserve. Our Freedom!
Make Mine Freedom 1948
* Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

From Her Heart
The following was writen by my wife in response to the song and video "For My Country", which I posted yesterday in honor of our veterans on Veterans Day. I felt that her thoughts needed to be shared, especially as they are coming from the heart of a mother of a young man who is serving in the defense of this great nation, aboard the USS Harry S. Truman. We are both VERY PROUD OF HIM.

"I don't cry often, I just get angry. This touched my real heart. I LOVE MY COUNTRY and my life in it. How DARE someone trusted to serve the people allow persons WITHIN OUR BORDERS to tear apart our fabric built on Faith in God and the strength of our people rather than BUILD OUR STRENGTH from within the heart of EACH AND EVERY AMERICAN ! Lets pray next year's elections find our people in a better frame of mind to do what's RIGHT FOR AMERICA not the UNITED NATIONS and get a new and powerfully committed Congress to SUPPORT our Constitution and our Bill of Rights and the foundations we have. WE are AMERICA, WE are FREE, WE have the God Given rights to SUCCEED and only though our successful standing can America continue to be the backbone and support structure the world has always depended on us to be! GOD BLESS AMERICA, but don't forget - America, bless GOD!!! AMEN!"

Compromise Is Good……….For Nothing
Actually, Compromise can be very useful. That is if you are trying to make a business deal, or if you and your spouse want to actually make your marriage work, or if you are having a disagreement with your neighbor about the dog barking. But those are not the kind of topics I set up this blog to write about. This blog is about our GOD given, Constitutionally recognized freedom. It is about the principles upon which that freedom is based. And when it comes to faith and principle, I hold to the statement that Compromise Is Good For Nothing..
Now that might sound like an extremist position to take. It might sound like I am ready to sound a call to battle and that I’m ready to go to war. But then, when it comes to protecting freedom and the firm foundation upon which that freedom is based, I can see no other responsible position for a GOD fearing, freedom loving individual to take. As Barry Goldwater said, in his acceptance speech at the 1964 Republican convention, "I would remind you, that extremism in defense of Liberty is no vice, and let me remind you also, that moderation in pursuit of justice is no virtue”.
The simple truth is that GOD fearing, freedom loving Americans cannot afford to compromise our faith, or our principles, in order to come to some kind of an agreement with our opponents. Did I say opponents? Perhaps foes would be a better term. Because that is indeed what they are, our foes. They represent the exact opposite of everything that we know and believe. They are the adversaries of the very truths that we base and build our lives upon. We must not allow the likes of the socialist liberal democrats, and the left leaning Rockefeller blueblood republicans, or any of their ilk, to force us into surrendering one single inch of the ground that we stand upon.
Those of us who hold to the founding principles of this country, as expressed in the Declaration of Independence, cannot and will not relent from our resistance to the continued assaults and efforts, by those on the left, to convince us to give in on even the smallest point. We need to respond to their efforts with a resounding NO!! We must and will refuse to surrender even one jot or one tittle of the words and ideas that make up the principles and truths that we hold so dear. To do so, to compromise on even the most miniscule portion, of the seemingly least significant individual component, of what makes us who and what we are, would be to weaken ourselves, and would set a president that would make it all the more likely that we would concede the next time, when a greater, more significant issue of our faith or principles is challenged.
For those of us who still hold to the fact that we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable Rights, for those of us who still cling to the concepts of truth and faith, for those of us who understand the proper meanings of liberty and justice, there is no middle ground that we can safely share with our foes. We know that if we are to remain free, we cannot succumb to the illusion that there are any shades of grey. There is only black and white. We will either Live Free, Or Die.
Yes, I know and I understand all too well how those on the left are probably going to portray me and the words I have written here.
I know that they will describe me as an extreme fringe right winger.
I am not. I am actually a centrist in the proper sense of the word. That does not mean that I am a moderate. It means that I am neither an anarchist, nor will I submit to a tyranny. (see my post of Friday, October 9, 2009, titled: “In response to Luigi B”) I will admit to being an extremist in the sense that I am an extreme defender of liberty. Not the false liberty espoused by the left, which is the right of anyone on their side to do whatever they damn well please. Rather I am a defender of the GOD given liberty to do that which is right.
I know that they will call me a terrorist (at least in the making), and/or say that I am encouraging violence.
I am not a terrorist. I will however do all that is required to protect the liberty and the rights, which are given to us by GOD, recognized by the Constitution of the United States of America, and which are supposed to be protected, not threatened, by the people we choose to serve in OUR government.
I am not encouraging, nor do I condone any kind of unnecessary or unwarranted violence. I am only stating the fact that I do not now, nor will I ever, surrender the freedom that GOD has given to all Americans. And I am also promising to fight to protect that GOD given freedom. The only people, who could or should possibly consider that promise to be any kind of a threat, are those people who intend to try to rob my family, my friends and I; of our GOD given, Constitutionally recognized rights.
I also know that, as history has made very clear, one day our foes will reach a point of complete frustration. For now they are content to try to deceive us. They are willing to use the stick and carrot approach to tempt the American people into surrendering their liberty, with promises of a nearly carefree utopian future, and assurances of some supposed benefits, to be provided and guaranteed by a benevolent government. But they will ultimately realize that for some of us, Freedom is far more appealing than their promises. And as history also teaches, at that point, if they have the power to do so, it is likely, if not inevitable, that they will then move to subdue or eliminate us by force. And if that day comes while I am still alive, I intend to keep my promise to them.

In response to Luigi B
The following is in response to a comment left by Luigi B regarding the video of David W. Hedrick that I posted yesterday.

Greetings Luigi B,
Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment.
I’m sorry, but you are only half right. The NAZIs were indeed fascist, but fascism is simple one end (the right end if you prefer) of the socialist spectrum. Communism would then be on the left end of the socialist spectrum.
The word NAZI refers to “National Socialism” (German: Nationalsozialismus), and refers to ideology and practices of the “National SOCIALIST German Workers' Party”.
As for the NAZIs being considered to be being on the right end of the overall political spectrum, this is an erroneous representation, based on an misguided attempt to place democracy somewhere between communism and fascism.
If you really want to try to do this, you would be better off replacing the straight line with an
incomplete circle open at the bottom. Communism could then be placed on the bottom of the circle, on the left side of the opening, democracy could be placed on the top of the circle, directly opposite the opening, and fascism could then be placed on the bottom of the circle, but on the right side of the opening. This would better represent the concept you make reference to, as well as showing that communism and fascism are really just two sides of an empty ideology, I.E. socialism.
A more accurate representation of the political spectrum would position communism, fascism, and other forms of totalitarian
governments, on one side of the spectrum (lets call it the left side), democracies and republics somewhere near the center, and absolute anarchy on the opposite side (lets call it the right side).
See the video below for a more complete explanation of this representaion.

No Fear - We Choose To Fight
GOD fearing, freedom loving Americans have no problems with, or fear of, the kind of limited government established by our founding fathers in the “Constitution of the Unites States” as interpreted in accordance with our national charter, the “Declaration of Independence”.
Note: It is not the declaration of dependence, nor is it the declaration of interdependence. It is the “Declaration of Independence”.
INDEPENDENCE is the key word in the title of that document. Just as “the people” are the most important words used in our constitution. Only our faith in, and reliance upon, our Father GOD is more important, to us, than the liberty of the individual citizen, the sovereignty of the individual states, and the power of the citizenry over the state. These are the key principles that have kept us free, and made America the most exceptional and greatest nation in history.
This does not mean that we do not reach out to help each other in times of need. We do. In fact “We the people” of the United States of America are the most generous and helpful people that have ever walked upon the face of the Earth. We do it freely, by our own choice and in our own way, because that is our very nature. We do not need any person, personality, government, or agency thereof, to coerce us into doing so their way. As long as those who serve in our government remember that fact, and keep their place, and remain subservient to the people, then “We the people” will have no serous problem with them
However, GOD fearing, freedom loving Americans always have had, do now have, and will forever continue to have, a problem with the kind of “politically correct”, “blame America first”, “class exploiting”, “mommy state promoters” and socialists that are currently at the reigns of our government.
We see how they view our founding documents with distain, and how they see those documents as stumbling blocks. We hear them say that we are unable to solve our problems by ourselves without their help and intervention. We know that they have decided that we can’t be trusted to take care of, or make the right choices for ourselves, our families and our neighbors. We watch as they seek and try to implement ways of sidestepping our founding documents, as well as the ideas and principles that those documents recognize and protect. We see how they look for ways, and work hard, to cast off those documents, ideas and principles. And that worries us.
No, it is not the limited government created by our founding fathers that “We the people” have a problem with. It is those who have now and in the past, taken charge of that limited government. And who have and are now attempting bury that limited government under a mountain of expansion. Expansion that they can and will then use to reach out and control “We the people”.
But to their dismay, they are finding that “We the people” are not sitting back and quietly allowing them to continue unhindered in their efforts. “We the people” have begun, and will continue, to stand against them at every turn. “We the people” will not meekly accept their elitist distain of the kind of “rugged individualism” and “I Can” attitude that we as Americans respect, admire and rely on. We will not respectfully kowtow and bow to their self superior vision of what this nation should be. We will not permit them to destroy all that we love and hold dear.
WE THE PEOPLE WILL FIGHT THEM TOOTH AND NAIL!!
